2021.10.21 18:16 BeeRare2696 I miss my ex, but she was toxic.

I took her and her child on at 22 while she has no support and a broken family unit. No dad, a mum she doesn't get on with and a brother who she has the worst most hateful relationship I've ever seen.

We were in love but then she started lying to me and over time my ability to trust her died. My mental health deteriorated and my paranoia and anxiety went through the roof. I began to question her at every turn and things got worse and worse. Even though she told me im the love of her life i didnt believe her words anymore. I had to let her go now i cant form an emotional connection with anyone.

Its still fresh but i feel lost.

2021.10.21 18:16 dortmundlove Question about Xbox Series X and the transfer of games/external storage

So this Black Friday I plan on getting the Xbox Series S. I already have an external storage device, a 3TB Seagate, that houses most of my games. If I were to get the Series S, would my storage device transfer? It uses USB to connect. And if it transfers, would I be able to play my games on it? If not, I’m guessing I would need to repurchase the games I want to play, correct?

2021.10.21 18:16 Dominooooooo Is there a social media aspect of the Survivors' NDAs?

I follow a lot of the s41 cast on instagram, and I realized just now that a lot of them aren't following each other.
Shantel, Sara, J.D., Abraham, Tiffany, Evvie, etc... none of them are following anyone else from the cast. The only person I could find following other players from this season was Ricard who follows Sara and Voce.
I'm not super familiar with the rules set by CBS about the castaways being in contact with each other before the season finishes airing, but is this a CBS thing or just the players not wanting to follow the others?

2021.10.21 18:16 Efficient-Progress72 The Stanly Kubrick explainer guide to full knowledge

Stanly Kubrick has been a national treasure for film connoisseurs everywhere since his death in 1999. Which falls in as mysterious, to this day we still don’t know the cause of his death. In this article we will go onto explain the impact he made on cinema. Why Stanly Kubrick left me as a viewer always lingering with more questions than answers. And why you should take more of a peek into his work as a film enthusiast.

The Impact he had on cinema Before Anyone even made it to space Stanly Kubrick was able to make one of the most visually stunning works of art in film history 2001: A space odyssey. Nils Daniel Peiler a co-curator of the Deutsches film museum in Frankfurt commented on his greatness. “It has inspired not only numerous other films, TV series, music videos and commercials, but also influenced genres as diverse as literature, comics, painting, design and architecture”. He also went to explain that Kubrick visited the more ominous side of the humankind using specific geometric shots too further detail his characters phycological meltdowns. Kubrick’s way of dealing with controversial issues in cinema was never seen. The way he depicted extreme violence in the shining and a clockwork orange was gruesome but was displayed beautiful from a cinematic standpoint. In Lolita and eyes wide shut Kubrick goes in to the mysterious and gloomy sexual fantasies that no one would ever think to create or imagine. The combination of older visual landscaping and a new eye for futuristic ideas was what made Kubrick have such an impact on cinema. Here is a great quote which encompasses what Kubrick really meant to film. “There is a clarity to the vision that you can’t miss. It’s very distilled, and very distinctive. When he approaches something, it’s done fully and originally,” says Albrecht. And, he says, his ideas continue to shape how people think about the world. “Kubrick’s themes remain at the forefront of political and social discussions today”. Why Stanly Kubrick always left me with more questions than answers
As a huge Stanly Kubrick fan, myself with every filmed I have watched. There has never been a time where I have been fully satisfied with the result of the film. And I mean that in a good way. These films include A clockwork orange, full metal jacket, 2001: a space odyssey and the biggest one for me Eyes Wide Shut. In my opinion the biggest question that came up for me was is it better for someone to be truly evil by their own freedoms or to be changed by society to become a “better human being”. Like for instance in the film when he has the power of choice, he only picks violence. But later in the movie after he has been experimented with different types of music and he develops a love for it. He begins to see there are other decisions to make other than violence. This question was never answered for me. In full metal jacket the biggest question raised for me was insanity. In this Vietnam war film Kubrick displays the various ranges of mental insanity a man can go through. In the film every single person is affected by the torture and violence of war no one can escape it being unharmed. But what was most interesting is how each individual character handled this madness. Weather it was from the character “Animal mothers uncontained acts of violence, the weird ritual of talking to a Vietnamese corpse and calling it bro by “crazy earl”. Or finally the infamous “Gomer Pyle” the most haunting one of all. Gomer goes onto be driven mad by the boot camp instructor Sergeant Hartman, Kill himself than Hartman. Why did these men act these specific ways from the various horrors they experienced? A question I am still asking. Finally Eyes wide shut. The pure Mystery of this film boggled my mind. So, cut to the middle of the film. After the main character tom cruise gets the secret password to enter the mysterious mansion his piano buddy told him about at the jazz club. Cruise enters the home with every man and women wearing a opera masks fully covered. The identities of these people are never revealed. The people who are apart of this secret society seem to follow him around for the rest of the movie never fully approaching him. The feeling of a higher power of society arose to me so many times in the film. In one scene, an old man with no name saying no words hands him the note. It says “Give up your inquires which are completely useless, and consider these words a second warning. We hope, for your own good, this will be sufficient”. What do they have to hide? They seem to know his every move. These questions along with so many others had me baffled at this film and I recommend you watch it to take your own interpretation.

2021.10.21 18:16 iboost4alanon Help me (34M) see things from her (30F) perspective

I wouldn't take much convincing to believe that I'm fully responsible for my marriage ending. I'm an addict. My marriage is just one of a long list of things I've lost due to my behaviors. When I was younger, I would hear old-timers share in meetings about losing marriages, and I would think to myself how alien that seemed and how it would never happen to me. And yet, here I am. I was introduced to oxycodone when I was in my late teens. Before I was old enough to drink, I was an IV opiate user. Like a lot of people, when they reformulated the oxy, I switched to heroin. It was plentiful and a heck of a lot cheaper. By the time I met my wife, I had less than a year clean.

I was 25 and had finished a 90-day program inpatient and was in suboxone maintenance. A relationship was ill-advised at that time, but if it's not heroin, then it's something else. Besides, she was beautiful, and we had taken a liking to one another. When I say we were opposites, I mean it in ways you can't even imagine. I was a 25-year-old recovering addict, practically homeless, living off of nicotine and suboxone, and she was studying on a student visa from India finishing her Masters' degree. We were married in 2014.

Ours was a happy marriage, for the most part. We faced challenges that I suspect most married people don't face. Challenges with her family accepting the marriage, for instance. I was clean for the duration of our marriage, or at least while we were together in the marriage. We separated last year. Part of it was the pandemic, and, I'll admit, I had started drinking. I tried convincing her to come home, to no avail. I relapsed within three months of her leaving. I won't make excuses, not that I ever needed one.

By the time she came back, I was telling her not to. I wonder now how much my change in disposition led to her change of heart. I suppose heroin does make one a tad bit apathetic. She showed up one night with her bag; I hadn't seen her in three or four months at that point, and I had at that time what you could justifiably call a serious problem. I was shooting heroin and smoking meth. Perhaps things would have happened differently if I had come clean with her right then. I don't know, but I did my best.

My best consisted of about two months' worth of "just one more time" and "I just need enough to get over being sick." I finally came clean with her on a Sunday afternoon in June. "I fucked up, but I'm going to fix it." I told her, "I'm not going to lose you to this. Give me a minute to feel well, and I'll put everything back right." She left me that afternoon, dope sick, laying on a sofa, and I didn't hear from her for over a month. When I finally did hear from her, she had filed for divorce. I don't blame her, but there is something I'm having trouble reconciling.

My wife knew I was an addict when she met me. I mean, I have a formal diagnosis of SUD. I'm 25 years old, and I've been using drugs since I was damn near 15. The longest I've been clean since I first started using was the seven years I was married, and even then, I drank more than any person should, much less a person with substance abuse disorder. She walked out on me when I arguably needed her the most. Yet her friends and family have all justified her in doing so. She doesn't seem to have any quarrel over it whatsoever, and I do not understand. What could she possibly be thinking? Help me put things into her perspective.
